The Senior Pops Orchestra of Long Island was established on September 12, 1979, when two local musicians formed and funded the group as a vehicle for senior citizen musicians to express their lifelong musical creativity, bringing entertainment and culture to an appreciative Long Island community. 

Today, we have evolved into a multi-generational orchestra with musicians of every age. We continue to bring the same musical enjoyment to a faithful and growing audience. Since its inception, our 60-member ensemble has always performed numerous free concerts annually and has distinguished itself as a serious contributor to Long Island's thriving cultural scene.
